Trust and Fit

Who is actually doing the work?

Why use a founder-led consulting firm instead of a large firm?

With FSL, the person discussing scope is also accountable for the work. There is no automatic handoff from sales to junior delivery staff. That can be useful when the engagement is documentation-heavy, operationally specific, or small enough that a large delivery structure would add overhead without adding value. A larger firm may still be the better fit when a project requires a large multidisciplinary team, formal attestation authority, or capabilities outside FSL’s scope.

What makes FSL different from another GRC consultant?

FSL combines cybersecurity and GRC work with operational experience from military service and more than two decades in emergency healthcare, including EMS supervision. That background shapes how risk, continuity, incident response, tabletop exercises, and documentation are approached. The goal is usable work tied to real operations, not a binder whose main capability is occupying shelf space.

What does FSL not do?

FSL does not provide legal advice, issue SOC 2 reports, perform CMMC certification assessments, guarantee certification or compliance outcomes, provide managed SOC monitoring, or represent that consulting work makes an organization immune to incidents. When another licensed, accredited, or specialized provider is required, that role stays separate.

Pricing

What does this stuff cost?

The numbers below are the current public starting points. Final scope controls. Larger environments, accelerated work, on-site delivery, technical implementation, travel, and third-party fees can change the price and are quoted before work begins.

Getting Started

What happens before work starts?

Do I need a meeting just to find out whether FSL can help?

No. FSL is async-first. Start with the contact form and describe the problem, deadline, organization type, and desired outcome. A call is used when the scope actually benefits from one, not as a ceremonial tollbooth between you and an answer.

We’ve never done a formal risk or readiness review. Is that a problem?

No. Intake is designed to identify what exists, what is missing, what is uncertain, and which requirements actually apply. You do not need to arrive with perfect documentation or compliance vocabulary.

How fast will the work be delivered?

Timing depends on scope, organization size, evidence availability, client response time, revisions, and whether third parties are involved. FSL confirms the delivery schedule in writing after the scope is understood. Ready-to-run digital products are delivered through the product platform, while consulting work follows the written engagement schedule.

What if the scope changes after kickoff?

Material work outside the agreed scope is not silently absorbed into the project and then resurrected as an invoice surprise. The change is identified, discussed, and quoted or documented before the additional work begins.

Sensitive Information

Do not send the crown jewels through a general contact form.

What should I send with an initial inquiry?

Enough information to understand the problem and scope. Do not send passwords, authentication secrets, PHI, patient records, CUI, controlled data, trade secrets, production exports, or other restricted information in an initial message. Secure transfer methods and appropriate confidentiality terms can be established when an engagement requires sensitive materials.

Can FSL sign an NDA or BAA?

Reasonable confidentiality terms can be reviewed as part of an engagement. A BAA is used when the facts of the engagement make FSL a business associate and the agreement is appropriate. The existence of an NDA or BAA does not expand the agreed scope or authorize disclosure of information the client is not permitted to share.

Who is responsible for the accuracy of information used in a deliverable?

FSL documents and analyzes information and evidence within the agreed scope. The client remains responsible for confirming factual representations about its systems, controls, contracts, personnel, and operations, and for approving information submitted to customers, government systems, auditors, assessors, insurers, or other third parties.

Assessments and Certifications

Readiness is not certification.

Can FSL certify us for SOC 2, HIPAA, or CMMC?

No. SOC 2 reports are issued through a CPA firm’s examination. HIPAA does not operate as an FSL-issued certification. CMMC certification assessments, where applicable, are performed through the authorized CMMC assessment ecosystem. FSL provides readiness, documentation, risk, remediation, and operational support.

Does a free HIPAA or SOC 2 check prove compliance?

No. Those tools are short informational screens designed to surface common readiness gaps. They are not formal risk analyses, audits, examinations, legal opinions, or certification decisions.

Does FSL guarantee a customer, auditor, regulator, or contracting officer will accept the work?

No. FSL can improve readiness and produce defined deliverables, but third-party decisions remain outside FSL’s control. No particular certification, assessment result, customer approval, procurement evaluation, contract award, or regulatory outcome is guaranteed.

Government and Partner Work

Can FSL work under a prime or partner?

Government / Prime Support

Yes. FSL can support defined work packages, subcontracting, teaming, and surge work where the opportunity, scope, certifications, size status, independence requirements, and contract terms permit it.

Partner / White-Label Support

Yes, where contractually permitted. White-label expectations, attribution, use of certifications, client ownership, confidentiality, data handling, and delivery responsibility are established before work begins.

Still Have a Question?

Ask the actual person doing the work.

Describe what you are trying to accomplish. FSL will tell you whether it fits, what information is needed next, and whether the problem should go to somebody else.

Website information is general and does not create a consulting engagement, legal relationship, professional opinion, certification, warranty, or guarantee. Engagement terms, scope, assumptions, responsibilities, pricing, data-handling requirements, and deliverables are controlled by the applicable written agreement.
